Driving age and driver license requirements

The minimum driver age is 21.
The maximum driver age is 75.
Driving license must be held for at least 2 years.
In some cases if the driving license is printed in non-roman alphabet (Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic etc), an *international driving license is required.

*Please note: an international driving license/permit does not replace the requirement for a regular driving license. If using an international license/permit, a full driving license in the principal drivers name will still be mandatory in order to rent the vehicle.

Insurance

Cars are covered by a fully paid comprehensive policy.
However, in case of accident, damage or loss of equipment, the hirer is responsible for the first excess (deductible).
For the following category vehicles: A-B-C-G – excess is: €675.
For the following category vehicles: D-E-F – excess is: €1080.00.

The insurance policy does not cover the following:

• Damage to the tyres
• Replacement keys
• Broken windows and side mirrors
• Damage to the underside
• Clutch and gear box
• Damage to car interior and the windshield due to driver carelessness
• Damage to engine due to lack of oil or filling the car with the wrong fuel or careless driving
• Damage caused by a driver being under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• Damage caused by an unauthorized driver
• Administration fees related to damage
• Theft of the car
• Stolen equipment inside the car (eg: GPS, radio, etc...)
• Bank charges related to refund
• Any damage not reported to us
• Negligent driving or driving without due care and attention, including driving off-road and on un–tarmacked roads.

Payment

The estimated cost is payable at the beginning of the hiring period and adjustments will be made at the end of the hiring period. Guarantee/deposit for the insurance excess must be effected at the beginning of the hiring period and can be made by credit card accordingly.

Delivery and Recovery

Our cars can be delivered and recovered from anywhere on the island.
Additional fees of €10 will be charged in each case.
For delivery and recovery at the airport, €15 will be charged each way.
For rental beyond 10 days, delivery and recovery are free at the airport or at your hotel or private accommodation.

At the time of completing the contract, the customer must have their driving license, a valid passport and their credit card with them.

Availability

The models listed are according to our original fleet database. However, issues beyond our control may compel us to supply a vehicle of similar or higher standard at the same price.
Vehicle images are representative only and non–binding.

Responsibility

Under penalty of the cancellation of the insurance policy, the customer agrees to not allow any other person to drive the car, except those authorised in the leasing agreement.

Fuel supply

The customer is required to return the car with the same quantity of fuel present at the beginning of the hiring period. In the case of missing fuel, Avenue Car Rental will debit the cost of the missing quantity of fuel.

Extras

You may add the following options to your rental during your booking.
Navigation system (GPS) at a rate of €5 per day
Baby seat is provided at a rate of €5 per day.

24 hour assistance is provided.
